This is a project of a modern cultural and business center with a number of unique features. Its shape resembles a nut and consists of two parts – a flatter-shaped concert hall seating 6000 and a raised building housing an indoor winter garden, many exhibition areas that can accommodate several large expositions at the same time, cafes, restaurants, classrooms, and offices. A large parking lot has also been arranged.
The theater has a large stage for large-scale musical and cultural events. Several technological solutions were used to improve the acoustics of the hall: the winter garden arranged over the auditorium serves as a ceiling and also adds to the insulation of the main volume of the building.
The new building at the mouth of the Smolenka River has been designed as a centerpiece of the entire architectural and urban planning composition of the area. Light faceted volumes rise above the water. They are brought together by window apertures which create a net with cells becoming increasingly larger as they climb higher.
